Cafe Gitane

And the rest of the photos come after because this dish - Moroccan Couscous with red peppers, raisins, toasted pine nuts, hummus, eggplant and chicken ($14.50) - served at Cafe Gitane on Mott Street in Soho, I'll say it again, is perfection. Everything about it works so well together, just look at the hummus resting on top. But be careful because in one wrong swoop of a fork, it can all come crashing down. Just like what happened to my friend Christina, who actually introduced me to Cafe Gitane. She was just so excited about it, she knocked hers over, spilling all over our table. But she ate it anyway, she's good like that.
