Brassaii
For a while people had said the brunch at Brassii (at King Street West and Spadina) was worth checking out, but it wasn't until Rob (one of my usual dining companions), blackberry messaged me about the resto-bar's homemade donuts, that made me rush over the next day. So here they are, looking pretty fine. They tasted delicious too, especially after dipping them in the chocolate and caramel sauce that comes on the plate.
Inside a great space of mixed brick and wood, with big bright windows, the rest of the food we ordered was hit and miss. The mini chocolate chip muffins seemed like a good idea at first, but then an overwhelming basket of too many came to the table, and they didn't taste especially great. The omelette didn't impress us either, especially the lack of guacamole. The small fruit bowl however was a nice touch. The eggs benedict was nice and predictable (not a bad thing). The main draw at Brassaii is definitely those donuts, and a relaxed atmosphere to spend a few hours in on the weekend.
