Saving Grace
This tiny restaurant on Dundas Street West serves up one of the best brunches in Toronto. This was our second visit to Saving Grace so we knew, especially on Sunday, to arrive extra early to get into the first seating. If you're not so lucky and running late (it is the weekend after all), write your name on the hanging clipboard and hang it out.
Inside it's the specials written on the chalk board that you want to focus on. Not that the regular menu is boring but trust us. Some of the specials that Sunday included - waffles with coconut lime sauce and raspberries, fresh fruit vegan pancakes, frittata with mushrooms, broccoli and gouda, an omelet with green beans and bacon, baked eggs in a peruvian vegetable stew and shown below - poached eggs on avocado white bean puree.
Two things to remember - there is no air conditioning so if you go on a hot day, it gets a bit steamy. And they usually have a freshly baked muffin, which is perfect to munch on while you decide on your breakfast.
